If I could make a club for Bowman, we would take care of baby animals together!
We would stay after school for an hour and learn how to take care of different animals!
We would learn to take care of;
Then once we know how to take care of them, we would hold a fundraiser. With the money everybody in the club could get the pet they want, and the things to take care of it!
(we don't have a real fundraiser yet!)
Once we raised enough with money the fundraiser, we would then get ready for our dream pets! We would start by getting a place for them to live. If somebody wanted a fish, then they would decorate and fill the aquarium. If somebody wanted a lizard then they would make the terrerium. If somebody wanted a chick, they'd get to make a hen-house. If somebody wanted a bunny, they could make the hutch. And if they wanted a kitten or puppy they'd get to make the play-pen.
After we have a proper place for our animals to live and we have the basic supplies and some food to take care of them, then we would get our pets!
I think this club would be an AMAZING addition to the extra-carricular activities here at Bowman! Learning to properly take care of the pets would teach students responsibility. Which is important for the rest of your life. Once they have their pets things like their behavior, grades, attention span, mood, and social habbits could improve. Having the pets help kids feel comforted. And being able to take care of another living animal can help them to feel in control of their enviornment, relieve stress, and make it easier to cope with other changes. The club would only cost the extra money to pay the teacher who helps stay after to run the club. Things like having a specialist come show us how to take care of the animals, the money to borrow someones animals for demonstrations and practice, and to practice making the different homes for the animals, and eventualy adopting the pets would come from our fudraiser.
